SAN DIEGO — Friends and family are searching for a Mission Valley man who left home for work early Monday morning and has not been seen since.
Erick Allen Wales, 24, was reported missing Tuesday morning about 4 a.m., said San Diego police Lt. Ernie Herbert.
Wales left his apartment about 6:30 a.m. for his job at VestaCare in La Jolla, where he works as an information technologist, and has not been seen or heard from since, said friend Rich Cook.
Cook described his friend of five years as a computer guy who loves his iPhone and is constantly in touch. He said that even if Wales is just a few minutes late, he will send a text.
“He’s that kind of guy,” Cook said.
Wales’ cell phone goes straight to voice mail and there has been no activity online, Cook said.
Herbert said detectives are working with Wales’ family and re-traveling his steps but so far have come up with no leads.
“It’s really a mystery,” Herbert said.
Friends are passing out fliers and spreading information via the Web and Twitter.
Wales is described as 6 feet tall, about 140 pounds and slender with blond hair and blue eyes. He was wearing a black shirt, blue jeans and a brown belt. His car is a black two-door Saturn Ion, California license plate FR33BSD, with a broken right side mirror and a KPBS license frame.
Before disbanding in 2006, Dehra Dun were a local sensation. Wales played keytar in the band, which would reform as The Silent Comedy. Anyone with information about Erick should call 619-301-9283.
Anyone with information is asked to call the San Diego Police Department at (619) 531-2000.
