Single Flamingos on Speed

So here's the thing with Beyonce: like her or not, she's done an amazing job of managing her career and constantly reinventing herself in a likable manner.

Her new single "Single Ladies (put a ring on it)" is edgy, daring and strange. Its not quite the single you might pick to lead the pack, unlike the heavily melodic and predictable "If I were a Boy".

Now she comes out with this glam black and white pure dance video which does wonders for the song. The three girls, which I first though were all Beyonce, somehow pull off the heavily female-yet strong 60's dreamgirls of the robotic future vibe without missing a beat. The direction of this gem is quite different that most pop music fare, especially given than there are only about 3 cuts throughout the entire song. Our MTV on Crack eyes are used to 30 different shot, outfits and hairdos per minute, so watching something that actually lets you orientate to the people in the frame is beyond refreshing.

The dancing, again, is paramount to a song like this. The incessant claps nearly demand that those little booty's shake a mile a minute. But really, when is the last time you saw such eloquent, controlled and elegant booty shaking at its best?

I like how they used the varied lighting and camera angles to simulate cuts without actually cutting. The dance moves where great although the dancing wasn't as tight as im used to in a pop R&B video. Who are beyonces video people? She has some great ones but I just cant stand her voice!!!
