Sasquatch Festival!!!

Sasquatch Festival is my all time favorite festival. I gone three years in a row and the only stopping me from going this year is not enough vacation days at work. I've laid parched and overwhelmed at Coachella, stoned and disoriented at most So Cal reggae fests and heard terrible stories of the trustafarian faux jadedness at Bonnarroo. Set against the surreal backdrop of a huge river running gorge and blue skies, you almost have to fight between watching the show and just gazing out over all the natural beauty. Sasquatch is in the Northwest at The Gorge so you already have less hot temperatures that can take all the fun out of watching your favorite musicians. I will say that one year it HAILED!! Out of nowhere the warm sun turned into marble sized balls of ice pelting Neko Case and sending us all running for cover. I met some bad ass Canadians in close quarters as we hid laughing under someones huge poncho. The camping is in a huge cow pasture and totally sucks, the walk to the venue is long and there are no in's and out's but you can take a back pack with food and water and the concessions aren't outrageously priced. There's chill northwest peeps everyhwere and the line ups?? Always stacked. I saw REM, Interpol, Bjork, MIA, Arcade Fire, Death Cab, The Cure, Flaming Lips, The Decemberists and MANY more in my three years of living and loving Sasquatch. This year I gotta say I'm not as impressed but missing Erykah Badu is going to kill me. Take a glorious road trip up the 101 to hit the Gorge or take advantage of cheap flights and do it!! It's memorial day weekend and it's always unforgettable.
