Every Tuesday you can get in free to several museums in Balboa Park, how great is that? Sometimes fee's are the only thing stopping you from checking out artwork of all types from historical, current, photographic, archiologeal, you name it. The park is beautiful and times are hard, take a park trip, its rough getting good entertainment for free.
