The One Day we all get to "be" Irish and drink and dance with abandon, I love it!! Cheers to green beer, corned beef and hash, shamrocks, parades, kilts and all things cheesy and lovable about American St. Patricks Day celebrating!!
Official St. Patricks Day Parade, Saturday 14th, 11 AM around 6th and Laurel!!!
NOTE: The SD St. Patricks Day Parade is a pretty rag tag operation. It's ghetto and I love it, makes for great drunken social commentary (good hearted shit talkin'/ people watchin'). The announcers mic goes in and out, the "beauty queens" waving from convertibles have sashes that read Ms. Jamul and Ms. Irish Princess of El Cajon sponsored by mom n pop places like Petes Hardware and Green Grove Diner (made those up hehe). It seems like a small town parade minus the great high school band drum lines (the HS bands blow around here!). But spirits are high and people are already starting to drink and there are hot fire man. The thing is, if you get boozy with your good friends and get into the spirit and dance and blow whistles and cheer it's a blast!!! There is a festival later that day for those of you who can't wake up that early!!
